About the Bel Air Lions
They succeeded in gathering 27 charter members who made up a cross section of leaders in the Bel Air area. The Club was sponsored as a new club by the Aberdeen Lions Club and received its charter from Lions International on January 13, 1943. The Club has grown to over 50 women and men engaging in a wide range of service activities for the community and is one of 9 Lions Clubs in Harford County.
On average, each year, the Lions Club provides over $30,000 in donations and services to the community and thousands of hours of volunteer service via dozens of service projects. These services range from sight and hearing conservation services (including vision assistance dogs) and support to many youth programs, to food insecurity projects, Bel Air parks improvements and assisting youth to attend Diabetes camps.
We also support the Harford County Miracle League and the local Kauffman Cancer Center and the Cool Kids Campaign, The Club also has a Foundation arm that focuses on promoting the spirit of community service and giving back in our youth by providing scholarships to local high school students based primarily on their service throughout their high school careers.
